How Does Electrostatic Disinfection Work?
As the name indicates, electrostatic disinfection uses a charge to dispense the cleaning solution. An electrode inside the sprayer combines the disinfectant with air and atomizes the particles.
Because most surfaces in your building are naturally grounded, they have a negative charge. As the atomized disinfectant passes through the nozzle of our machines, the spray is given a positive charge. These positively charged droplets act like magnets, repelling each other and attracting to the negatively charged surfaces. This technology allows the molecules of germicide to evenly coat all surfaces including undersides, backsides, walls and hard-to-reach areas. Electrostatic disinfection kills odor-causing bacteria, eliminating foul smells.
The Process
Working from top to bottom, our technicians use a slow, sweeping motion to distribute the aerosolized germicide. They continue until all surfaces are covered and ensure visible wetness for the required dwell time (the amount of time required for the wet solution to properly disinfect).
This process kills 99.9% of bacteria on hard, non-porous surfaces, sanitizing in less than 2 minutes. There is no “down time” as workers can immediately enter the area after the process is complete.

This technology allows for quick, easy and contactless disinfection which reduces the risk of cross-contamination. When compared to the standard wiping technique, electrostatic disinfection is far more effective at reaching nooks and crannies and large, open spaces. The unique ability of the electrostatically charged particles to adhere to all surfaces means that it is an extremely effective way to sanitize large spaces with multiple surfaces.
